Let Go of Perfectionism

I was at a Mental Health and Emotions conference recently and the speaker pointed out that the opposite of Perfection was not Failure but Reality or Possibility even.

When we accept what we can do, instead of getting hung up on what we can’t, we accept reality and live in harmony with ourselves and the world around us.

Let’s face it, sometimes circumstances beyond our control can get the better of our plans.  With the best will in the world, we just can’t achieve that perfect plan.

Next time you feel a failure, ask yourself

Did I have a plan ? Did I know what I wanted to do ?

Did I do my best according to that plan ?

If you did what you thought was right and you did this to your best ability, then you did well. Just because it didn’t come out perfect doesn’t mean you failed. Things might not have come out according to plan, but you tried- you did your best. Pat yourself on the back and……….
